Geek Brunch 114: Rollin on Percocet

This episode of Geek Brunch is a celebratory roller coaster ride of awesome. Mr. Myers makes a triumphant return to Geek Brunch! To celebrate, here’s a list of things that may or may not be learned by listening to this episode. Batman: Odyssey is not a retelling of the Homer story with Batman in it. (That would make it better). Friday Night Lights works without football. Inception isn’t an accurate movie. Nothing I dream about (money, cars, girls) is in that movie. Tom Hanks is going to play Superman in 1994, and he’ll solve cancer. I wrote the script. Want to stick it to the man? Have your wisdom teeth taken out. Everything that ever went wrong in the world (all those wars and genocide and stuff?) all the cause of two semi-immortal British kids. Riverdale is soon to be home to some serious racial discussions, possibly riots. Food is best when drizzled down the throat.

Geek Brunch Episode 113 – We Don’t Listen To Apes

First off, just in case stuff goes down, this episode actually didn’t happen. We do not encourage the burning down of one’s place of employment just due to an unfriendly working environment. Not cool. In other news, Mike and Bill continue to tag team it in Mike unfortunate absence. Bill brings the new with books like “Sea Bear and Grizzly Shark” while Micah takes a trip back to the 70s with “Richard Dragon Kung Fu” Fighter. We’re lighter on tv and movies this week, but that just gives us more time to concentrate on two documentaries with very different feelings about Light, “Beyond the Lighted Stage” and “Until the Light Takes Us.”
Don’t forget to catch us on twitter, facebook, or through email. Also, Give us a five star iTunes rating whether you like us or not. It’s just the polite thing to do.

Geek Brunch 112 – So Daggone Hot (FIXED)

NOTE: This is the same as the original file but in both channels.

This one gets a bit up in the air. It’s about million degrees and super muggy in both Chicago and Charlotte at the time of this recording. Mike is doing his best to keep his company alive single handedly, so It’s up to Bill and Micah to handle the show. Even without Mike we get a strong dose of DC Comics with appearances from Arion Lord of Atlantis and Moonshadow. Both well known DC properties. We also go over Marvel’s 76 Avengers books that are relaunching. Micah reads a book that doesn’t exist (why my store has it I don’t know. I’ll let you guess which one it is). We cover cool Manga (and their good translation work) like Twin Spica and Dororo). We also delve into some hard hitting movies like Hurt Locker and Toy Story 3. Hopefully you can enjoy this podcast in much cooler, dryer weather!

Geek Brunch Episode 111 – Con-Ed

Heroes con was not long ago and Mike, Bill, Micah and Keith Cunningham regroup to let you know ALL about it. This episode is all about learning things about yourself and the world you never knew before. “Jiggling your butter popcorn!”, “How to break a Waitress!”, “How to swindle five dollars out of Micah by looking like a kicked puppy!”, “How do you sit in a Shotgun Rocking Chair!”, “, “Ephemeral purple baboons”, “Comic Smelling Milkshakes!”, “VIDEO GAMES!” “That Spandex store isn’t for kinks, it’s for kids”, “Wood and Yellow!” “Germany has Black People!” “Caveman Robot!” “How to become Strategy Cam!” “Micah is clearly NEVER becoming unsingle.” And soooo sooooo sooooo much more. Seriously. Hours of knowledge just being dropped all over left and right.

Geek Brunch 110 – No Founding Fathers

What happens when Mike flees the coop? How will Bill and Micah possibly fill up the podcast? Easy. With Batman Porn! ‘Nuff said, right? There’s also a super in depth discussion of Iron Man 2 plotholes! Not much of the actual movie, mostly just nitpicky quirks. Micah tries to pronounce an Italian name! Micah fails at pronouncing an Italian name! Will Lapham fare better at Crossed than Ennis? Does 6 escape!? All that and a side helping of Dirty Rice!

Geek Brunch Episode 109

KRAKATHOOM! That’s right! This week Your regular hosts Mike, Micah and Bill are joined by Thoomcast’s Timmy Thoom. Questions explode from Reed Richard Dicking and Dancing, like why does Doc Savage not realize the Dodgers moved out of Brooklyn 53 years ago? How is Iron Chef Miyamoto rages war with Sardines in his arsenal? Why is Michael Cera is everywhere (even in places where he isn’t)? What does lady GaGa have to do with middle aged bums? Is Black Dynamite the funniest movie ever since the last really funny movie we said was the funniest movie ever? Who the hell does Ralph Macchio think he is? Why do D-List has beens charge sooo much cash for pictures at cons in Burbank? Why does Mike hold so much hatred in his heart (who can hate releasing  krakens? really? who?)

P.S. We talk about Iron Man 2 as well, but real talk, no one watched that movie so us discussing doesn’t do anything for you. $133 million dollars? Puh-lease. RELEASE THE KRAKEN!
