From Youtube: “A brand new short from producer Bruce Timm featuring a lost tale from Batman’s past, the Dark Knight tracks a strange giant to the mysterious lair of Dr. Hugo Strange.”
I’m not as enamored with Batman The Animated Series as some of my friends seem to be, but I think this is pretty cool.

Host Derek Coward returns to talk about a LOT of subjects, including (but not restricted to) Justice League 3000 #4, Mighty Avengers #7 and #8, Kirby Genesis #5, Magnus Robot Fighter #1, Turok Dinosaur Hunter #2, Bloodhound Crowbar Medicine #4, The Occultist #1, Post-Crisis DC vs The New 52 DC, Jen Walters, Avril Lear, the interview that changed how he felt about Jack Kirby’s artwork, old time radio, Green Hornet, liking the parts but feeling ambivalent about the sum, clean filthiness, and the ratio of Black people to White people in New York City.
Shawn Taylor over at Nerds of Color has an excerpt from his upcoming book. The excerpt is mainly about Storm, but there are two really great non-Storm portions. The first is an evaluation of Batman and the other is a tangent. Great stuff and I will be keeping an eye out for the book when it comes out.

Host Derek Coward goes over some feedback regarding remembering old comic book stories from the covers, why he uses hyperbole when giving negative reviews, Mabel King’s imposing physical presence and Amanda Waller.
According to the good folks over at ‘Screen Crush’, Kevin Feige from Marvel Studios said ‘Marvel’s The Avengers’ was almost given an R rating. Their whole article can be found here.
This makes a lot of sense to me. Comic book fans are used to seeing things like Blue Beetle getting his brains shot out through his face, Captain America hitting someone in their face with his shield, or Wolverine snikting people all over the place, non comic book fans aren’t necessarily immune to this type of violent imagery. I’m glad they made the cuts needed because they opened the film to a much larger audience.
