Micah talks about Slam Dunk and what it is like to play Basketball in Manga. Mike finally learns about Steampunk with Lady Mechnika. Bill decides he wants to go through Avengers Academy again. There is a lot of love for Nick Spencer with Forgetless. Mike tries to convince the guys that Crossed must be read. Bill decides there are issues after number one with Muppet King Arther. Bill loves dragons and Four Eyes is no exception. We discuss The Return of Bruce Wayne and why smoking is healthy. Mike makes it through Teen Titans. Slingers: The Team I Couldn’t Remember

On Comic Book Noise 219, I mentioned a superhero team in passing but I couldn’t remember the exact name. All I could remember at the time was they were involved with Spider-Man somehow.

The team was called The Slingers. They had their own title in the late 1990s.

According to Wikipedia, the team consisted of Dusk:

Prodigy:

Ricochet:

The members used costumes and names that were used by Spider-Man during the Identity Crisis crossover, which of course has nothing to do with the DC Comics event. Marvel made the “controversial” decision to print four versions of the first issue, each telling a fourth of the story from the point of view of each of the four team members. I put controversial in quotes, because it sounds really cool to me and I can’t understand why anybody would complain about it.

The title only lasted until issue #12 and hasn’t been traded, but the Spider-Man: Identity Crisis storyline has been collected, but good luck finding it for a decent price.

However, if decent pricing isn’t high on your list of requirements…
